Steve NG : The unique experience on the amazing islands
One of the luckiest thing in my life, it was the visit of Ogami island on 25th and 26th November. Before my visiting, I heard that it’s a very special and holy place in RyuKyu Islands, a place that blessed by God, once I stepped on the island and passed a night there, I think I start to understand why people say so. The island only got around 20 residents now, the youngest people already over 50years old. The island is surrounded by peaceful energy, it calms your body, mind and soul. I walked by the seaside, listen to the sounds of wave from the almighty ocean; I walked by the mountains, embrace the winds through the greens; I closed my eyes and feel the moonlight touching my skin; I look up to the sky and running stars over my head. Despite all these my heart was so calm and peaceful, I guess it’s how people feel and react in heaven. It’s not the beautiful scenery couldn’t overwhelm my emotions, it’s just that, the vibe, the environment, the energy that calm my soul. I found my peace, this is the most valuable gift in my life.
The last day before our departure, we had a presentation to the locals and the supporting parties. The work was at its experimental stage, but I did enjoy the process and the outcome. It’s a little taste of each of the artists, on how we work and what directions we go. The different approaches and diversity of thinkings and perspectives came in a good way among us. looking forward for the phase 2 residency program in February Hong Kong. thank you everyone, thank you universe. ありがとうございます！
人生にとってもっとも幸運だともいえるのは、11月25日・26日と大神島を訪ねたこと。沖縄の島々の中でも特別に神聖な島、神の島であると聞いていました。大神島でひと晩を過ごしながら、なぜ人々がそのように言うのか感じ始めました。大神島には現在20名ほどの人しか住んでいません。一番若い方でももう50歳を超えています。この島は穏やかなエネルギーに囲まれていて、体、心、魂を落ち着けてくれます。海岸を歩きながら全能の海から聴こえる波の音に耳を傾け、山の近くでは緑を駆け抜ける風と抱き合い、目を閉じれば月の光が頬に触れるのを感じ、空を見上げると星が頭の上を流れていきます。すべてのことが心を落ち着かせ、和やかであること、これは人々が天国で感じることではないかと思いました。感情をコントロールするのは美しい風景だけではなく、雰囲気、環境、そしてエネルギーすべてが精神を落ち着かせてくれるのです。自分の安らぎを見つけたことが、人生にとって素晴らしい体験となりました。
出発の前日、地元の人々やコーディネーターの方々にプレゼンテーションを行いました。実験的な発表でしたが、その過程と出来上がったものをとても楽しみました。それぞれのアーティスののテイストと、これから私たちがどのような共同作業を行うのかがその発表の中にありました。それぞれに異なるアプローチ、考え方、見方があることが私たちの協働の方法です。2月の香港でのAIR2弾を楽しみにしています。みなさん、そして、地球に、ありがとうございます。
